Short version

BlurMask collects no user data. It has no analytics, no accounts, no telemetry, and it communicates with no servers. Everything you do with it stays on your computer.

What the extension stores, and where

• Your blur selections, presets, and settings — stored locally in your browser using its built-in extension storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device and is removed by uninstalling the extension.
• Your license key (Pro) — stored locally so Pro features stay activated. It is validated offline; it is never transmitted.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not read, record, or transmit the content of web pages you visit.
• We do not track browsing history, clicks, or usage events.
• We do not use analytics or third-party trackers.
• We do not create accounts or profiles.

Payments (Pro)

Purchases are processed by our payment provider. Your license key is delivered by email. Payment details are handled entirely by the provider under their privacy policy — BlurMask never sees or stores your card information. The only data associated with your purchase is what the payment provider needs (typically your email address and order reference).

Permissions explanation

• Read and change data on all sites: required so you can blur content on any page you choose. BlurMask only modifies pages in response to your actions and applies blur styling — it does not send page content anywhere.
• Storage: saves your blurs, presets, settings, and license state locally.
• Context menus: adds the right-click "Blur this element" option.

Changes

If this policy ever changes (for example, if a license-validation server is added), the change will be described here and in the extension's store listing before it takes effect.
